Principles and Objectives of Our Research

Welcome to the Chair of Information Systems and Application Management at the University of Duisburg-Essen. Our department is dedicated to the scholarly investigation and teaching of key topics in information systems, with a focus on digital services, open source software, modern software development, and sustainability.

We engage in close collaboration with industry partners and academic institutions to develop practical and innovative solutions. Our research is supported by prominent companies, including Fressnapf | Maxi Zoo, Deichmann, and EDEKA Rhein-Ruhr, through the Stifterverband.

Our mission is to integrate theoretical insights with practical applications, driving advancements in both academic and applied contexts.
